Following up on the Christi Shaw Pavilion fire at the Mt View Lions Community Park. People have asked if they can help. The Mt VIew Lions Club Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, has set up a donation account to accept funds. We'll issue receipts to everyone who donate. Unfortunately, the Christi Shaw Pavilion at the Mt View Lions Community Park was damaged last night by fire. The Club is working with fire and police investigators; structural engineers, contractors and vendors.

We will be putting up additional barriers to keep public out of the damaged area. Thank you for your cooperation.

It is likely out of commission until next summer.

We have the first week of service covered with the donations and attendance at the masked Alaska Center for Blind and Visually Impaired Masqurade.

I will follow up with Total Reclaim on Week 3 Environmental.

We would like to hear from the Mt View Community about your passions for service.
We meet at 7 pm on Thursdays. The first Thursday includes a project for Children's lunchbox. Other upcoming projects include park prep for winter on October 10, 10 am.

The Mt View Lions Club Community Park is getting 60 cubic yards of wood chips for fall protection of the new park equipment today. With the delivery is today approximately noon today, Friday 8/14. Anyone available and willing to help spread the chips is welcome. Pictured is the new 12' rope tree which isn't just a simple climbing structure, as the whole tree rotates also. We are also adding a new slide, an exercise station and a saucer swing. The swing won't be open this weekend as we await parts.

Mt View Lions Club Community Parks goes Green.
The snow is melting but even more important is our Free Electronics Recycling at the Park today from 10am to 2 pm.

It has been a steady stream of Anchorage Residents dropping off their electronics to keep them oit of the landfill.

We hope to see you and your small electronics today.
