Alaska Miss Amazing Celebrating the abilities of girls and women with disabilities. The Alaska Miss Amazing state direct Miss Amazing Inc.

is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising self confidence in girls and young women with disabilities. The first Miss Amazing Pageant was held by Jordan Somer in 2007 in Omaha, Nebraska. Like the first event, the Miss Amazing Pageants are still dedicated to teaching life skills through the interview, introduction, evening wear, and optional talent competitions. o strive to nourish and support local community organizations also dedicated to helping people with disabilities. The division winners get a taste for community service as they give the proceeds from the pageant back to the community. Not only do the proceeds from the event go to the community, but also canned food items collected from the participants as their only participation fee. officially became a non-profit organization on September 6, 2011 and has now expanded to Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Alaska. The future is not only bright for the Miss Amazing pageants, but also for additional programs that are to be founded on the belief that people with disabilities CAN achieve and have every ABILITY to reach for their dreams.

Hello Alaska Miss Amazing Family,

The past few months have been extremely hard, and I hope everyone has remained safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. I know for myself, not having the annual Alaska Miss Amazing event has truly hurt my heart!

This message is to formally acknowledge my resignation as the Alaska Miss Amazing State Director, effective 2021. This was such a difficult decision for me to come to. Alaska Miss Amazing has been a part of my life for the past eight years. It has been an honor to bring this program to Alaska and see it grow into what it is now. Every person I have met has made such an amazing impact in my life and I will never forget any of you. I really cannot put into words how much you all mean to me! I still plan to be involved with the program going forward, just in a much smaller capacity.

That being said, we are now looking for a new Alaska State Director to come onboard. If you or anyone you know might be interested in getting involved, please send me a message and we can set up an interview.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your lives for the past several years, this has been a life-changing experience for me, and I have loved every minute!
