In it, Wiseman discusses how translating medical terms and creating language tools can help people understand healthcare in their own language. His work shows how preserving Indigenous languages can also improve trust, comfort, and care in medical settings.

Moses Wiseman spoke his Yup’ik language before he learned English. As a college freshman, he entered the field of Alaska Native language revitalization with a bit of an inherited purpose.
