Free Farm Stand is back!

Anchor Gardens, Alaska Community Action on Toxics, and Yarducopia are teaming up to bring free, fresh produce to Anchorage neighborhoods.

📍 Tuesdays – Serenity Garden (13th & Karluk, alleyway entrance)
📍 Wednesdays – Spenard Community Garden (33rd St., next to Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry)
⏰ 3–7pm both days
📅 Mid-August through mid-September

Get involved:
- Share your extra garden veggies or fruit on Farm Stand days so others can enjoy them
- Volunteer for a 2-hour shift on Tuesday or Wednesday

The community garden just up the road is having a BBQ - come say hi! 2930 Cheechako Street

BBQ and workparty at the Midtown Community Garden / Midtown Depot tomorrow (Wednesday) night! We'll fire up the grill at 5 pm - probably start cooking at 6. Helpers needed to lay out cardboard and dump wood chips. We're expanding the community garden and creating a little more growing and hang-out space for everyone to share!

July 1 and July 15 are our next two workparties in the garden. Come enjoy the evening shade and good company from 6 - 8 pm. We'll have tools and snacks and gloves to share but feel free to bring your own too.

Signs up for the community compost drop off at the Spenard Garden. Compost bins are for the whole neighborhood, so bring your own compostables and spread the word

Come for the bike tour, stay for the Harvest Party!

On Sunday, August 20th, at 11am ACAT and Yarducopia invite you to the Spenard Community Garden (1303 West 33rd) to begin a pedal-powered, 2.5 hour, seven-garden tour of Spenard and Midtown.

But wait, there’s more! We’ll carry on to Airport Heights for a Harvest Party starting at 2 pm.

TJ and her dog Luksuk picked some more baby kale and chives from the garden to add to a tasty egg scramble. Come grab some fresh greens and herbs and add em to your next meal. Lots to share.

Surplus of strawberries in the garden this year. We'll be rehoming a hundred or so tomorrow from 3:30 - 5:30. Come by and grab some. The rest are moving in to pots and planters.

TJ put it well when she said, "I'm so excited to be having a salad that is two hours fresh!" Thinning lettuce, mustard, and kale and harvesting radishes. Summer salads are in. Come by, harvest, and nibble.

We'll be busy celebrating Juneteenth this weekend, so no Sunday workparty at the garden. We'll be back at it Wednesday at 3:30. Of course, the garden is always open, so go check out what's growing this season

Mushroom season at the garden! The nettles are still edible, but there are other delicious perennials and fungi popping up like wormwood, chives, rhubarb, lovage, and good king henry. The strawberries and currants are flowering, so there's promise of some tasty treats in July and August too. Enjoy.
