Check out Jasmine’s art submission to the 988Create 2025 campaign! Jasmine is from Eklutna and submitted a digital art piece, titled “Block Print Art”. When asked how her work fits this year’s theme, “What inspires you and helps you to grow?”, Jasmine said “(My piece) fits the theme because I wanted to create an art piece that shows what inspires me to keep going. I also struggle with mental health and wanted to show others what helps me go forward, which is my family, my cultures, nature, the career I am pursuing and my art.”

Check out Ashe’s art submission to the 988Create 2025 campaign! Ashe is from Homer, Alaska and submitted a digital art piece, titled “Here Comes the Sun”. When asked how his work fits this year’s theme, “What inspires you and helps you to grow?”, Ashe said “Like many other Alaskans, my mood gets dampened by the lack of sunlight in the winter. I decided to do a piece based around the sun and how it ‘heals’ in the mental sense. Symbolically I chose to portray it with a man made of stone because that feeling in the winter is cold and lonely like a statue, so I (using Greek and Roman sculptures as reference) decided to show a man made of stone being warmed up and shedding that cold stone casing.”

Check out Emily’s art submission to the 988Create 2025 campaign! Emily is from Anchorage and submitted a watercolor painting piece, titled “Failure Helps Me Grow”.
When asked how her work fits this year’s theme, “What inspires you and helps you to grow?”, Emily said “I am greatly inspired by my victories. They shape me into who I am, and they represent what I am good at. However, I decided that what inspires me beyond my accomplishments, are my failures. They humble me and bring me to my lowest. From that lowest point, I can persevere and rise up, showing myself that I am stronger than I think. My failures are the reason I know myself, and they push me out of my comfort zone and into the realm of the unknown possibilities. My failures help me grow, flourish, and learn.”

When asked how her work fits this year’s theme, “What inspires you and helps you to grow?”, Liliana said, “The garbage, graffiti, and unsavory environment represents things in my life that have been hard and struggling and so adding someone in my life like my boyfriend to make me get better and keep moving forward really inspires me to grow.”

When asked how their work fits this year’s theme, “What inspires you and helps you to grow?”, Grace said, “Connections, socializing with good people is a big part of mental health. Even if those people have hard stories or are going through something hard. Hearing these peoples stories inspires me to work hard and do everything I can to help these people. This, in turn, helps me grow as a person.”
