Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG) is a national non-profit organization with over 250,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliates in the United States. This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced and serviced by the PFLAG national office, located in
Washington, D.C., the national Board of Directors and 14 Regional Directors. PFLAG Anchorage was incorporated under the laws of the State of Alaska in January 1994. Current Board Members:

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends, through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. We address misconceptions regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people by providing information based on our personal experiences and on science. We speak to individuals, church groups, schools, businesses, and other organizations. We Advocate Equal Rights:
We understand, as our founders did, that the most productive way to effect change is through public advocacy. We advocate for the safety and respect of our loved ones regardless of their sexual orientation. We advocate for the same civil rights for our loved ones that are enjoyed by all citizens.
