In an effort to be as prepared as possible for the upcoming Safer Seward Highway meeting (Sept 22!!) and the subsequent comment period, CASA has prepared a survey for you. It shouldn’t take long, and will allow us to best represent you.

And, at the end of the comment period, we will do a drawing for prizes from those who submitted an answer through the survey!

The purpose of this form is to better understand the feelings of climbers as a whole toward the Safer Seward Highway project. Our annual Seward Highway Crag Clean-Up is just around the corner ✨🗑️🧹🏔️✨

Join us Wednesday August 19th at 6:00PM in the Sunshine Ridge parking lot ready to pick up trash! We’ll be spending some time picking up litter around the parking lot and Highway, caring for our local climbing spaces, and catching up on summer adventures. Climbing after optional!

CASA will provide buckets, garbage bags, and gloves. BYO additional PPE (grabbers are awesome!) We highly recommend wearing closed toed shoes.

Open for business!!

Wow, wow, wow. Thank you to every volunteer, whether you carried one bucket on your way to climb, or you stayed for hours, hauling rocks and pruning alders. Every single one of you played a valuable part in getting this project done.

Thank you to our grant partners, Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, and Access Fund. You saved us years of begging our friends for money.

And of course, thank you to Chad, CASA’s Vice President, for researching composting toilets, doing the math, leading the assembly, building the structure itself, and being in general an incredibly meticulous guy. This could not have happened without you. Thanks to you, State Parks knows us as “the nonprofit that gets really excited about toilets!”

Over the next few weeks, CASA will be adding updates for clarity and comfort to the toilet, moving the bulletin board, and taking down the old outhouse, but for now it’s up there in Archangel, ready for YOU!

Onsite Brewing hosts a monthly trivia night with proceeds going to a different local non-profit each month. May’s trivia is climbing-themed, and proceeds from the game will go to CASA!
Find some friends, choose a team name, and we will see you at Onsite Brewing next Wednesday at 6:30 pm! Costs $10 to play.
