Knights of Columbus 12290

Knights of Columbus 12290 Council 12290 is located at St. Benedict Parish in Anchorage Alaska. Our St. Benedict's Council #12290 was founded in 1998

Our primary mission is to serve our parish and local community through selfless acts of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in the United States in 1882, it is named in honor of Christopher Columbus. There are more than 1.8 million members in 15,000 councils, with nearly 200 councils on college c

ampuses. Membership is limited to "practical Catholic" men aged 18 or older. Councils have been chartered in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Guatemala, Panama, Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Guam, Spain, Japan, Cuba, and most recently in Poland. The Knights' official junior organization, the Columbian Squires, has over 5,000 Circles. All the Order's ceremonials and business meetings are restricted to members, though all other events are open to the public.

🩸Your platelets could be the reason someone gets another chance.

At Blood Bank of Alaska, we see every day how important platelet donors are to patients facing some of the most serious medical emergencies — including major trauma and complex surgeries.

Recently, one Alaska patient underwent emergency trauma surgery and needed multiple platelet transfusions during their recovery. 🩸Behind every one of those transfusions were donors who took the time to sit in a donation chair and give a part of themselves to help someone they had never met.

That patient didn't need just one donor.

They needed many.

And that's why we need platelet donors in Alaska. CALL 907-222-5630

A great big shout out to our Anchorage Cops for Community for continuing to fill the needs of our Anchorage community. Year after year - event after event they do the things many people just talk about.

We’re glad to be a partner, but honestly they do all the heavy lifting and they are very easy to work with.
Please join us - in thanking them once again.

Saturday - We gave away our 856 new winter coats and there were about another 400 donated from the community at large. We cooked hot dogs late into the afternoon as well. Hopefully many needs were filled and many families getting ready and set for another school year.
