Friends of The Duct Tape Ball, one of our own needs your help. Cathy Janigo, the creative genius behind Alaska's famous Duct Tape Ball decor, is battling a significant medical emergency. Cathy has been in ICU for several weeks and has just recently moved to a Progressive Care Unit, which is great news, but she has a long road to recovery ahead.
Cathy's creativity entertained, wowed and amazed you for 15 years and was a driving force behind The Duct Tape Ball fundraising efforts. Who can forget the fantastical duct tape creations by Cathy: The giant mushrooms from the Mad Hatter Tea Party - Alice & Wonderland; the sleeping Cat-in-the-Hat from the Land of Dr. Seuss; C3PO and the Starship Enterprise from the Galaxy Blast, and, a personal fave, the giant Bumblebee from Transformers complete with lights and animation! From planning the theme and every square inch of duct tape to be applied to her amazing creations, Cathy spent countless hours making The Duct Tape Ball an event to remember and a powerhouse fundraising showcase for Alaska's nonprofit organizations.
