📣 WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU.
✨ Paid leadership opportunity for Alaskans with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
One of the most powerful things a young person with a disability can experience is meeting an adult with a disability who can say: I have been where you are.
That's exactly what School Ambassadors do. And we're building a team of up to 250 of them from communities across Alaska.
✨ If you are 18 years or older and have an intellectual or developmental disability and you're ready to walk into a classroom and change how a young person sees their future — THIS IS YOUR MOMENT.
As a Peer Power School Ambassador, you'll speak with students about:
• Self-advocacy and knowing your rights
• Employment, transition, and life after high school
• Participating in your IEP and making your own decisions
• Independence, community leadership, and so much more
🚫 NO public speaking experience required. We provide ALL training and support.
💵 Ambassadors receive a $100 stipend per eligible school presentation.
✈️ Travel expenses covered when needed — where you live or what's in your bank account will NEVER be a barrier.
We're recruiting from communities across Alaska, including Anchorage, Mat-Su, Fairbanks, the Kenai Peninsula, Southeast Alaska, and rural communities statewide.
YOU belong in this role if you:
✅ Want to help younger people with disabilities
✅ Have experiences and a story worth sharing
✅ Want to build your leadership and public speaking skills
✅ Are ready to step into advocacy in your community
We are not waiting to be invited to the table anymore — and we don't want you to wait either.
