The August Fund is having an adoption clinic this Saturday the 18th! Time: 2-6PM Location: Petsmart on Diamond, Anchorage.

There will be some very special prior sled dogs there, in search of loving forever homes! If you are interested in adopting or fostering one of these sweet dogs, please stop by! Among others, Alder (pictured), is scheduled to attend! He is an inquisitive, caring, and all around sweet elderly fellow! 🙂 ❤️

Troop #1123 is working hard in the Anchorage, Alaska area to help provide treats and toys to cats and dogs in foster care. Troop 1123 did a lot of research leading up to their focus on providing toys and treats to shelter animals. In fact they came up with an entire, amazing list of ways kids and families can help the shelter animals:

* Treats and toys (make or purchased)
* Bedding/blankets (make or purchase)
* Pet food
* Pet carriers, leashes
* Donations for vet visits
* General donations
* Reading to animals
* Volunteering to take animals to vet visits
* Volunteering at an adoption event
* Fostering
* Adoption
* Taking pictures at adoption events or in other coordination with the agency for use on social media
* Getting the word out to family, friends, schools and general community

** Making it sustainable

Troop 1123 has created this page as well as flyers that have been distributed to more than two dozen pet-friendly businesses in the community to help spread the word that these organizations exist and there so many ways kids and families can help!!
