Our Annual General Membership meeting will be taking place on Tuesday, October 13th at 6pm. Board elections will take place at this meeting. This will be virtual as well as in person (Ruckus Room: 2612 Eagle Street Anchorage, AK).

If you are interested in being a board member, please submit a letter of interest no later than noon on October 13th to [email protected]. All board members are subject to a background check - so please include full legal name in your letter.

Immediately following, the monthly board meeting will happen to elect new officers of the board.

Today we’re spotlighting our Grand Duke 22 of Anchorage; RaysEffect!

Well known for opening packs of Pokémon cards during his performances, RaysEffect is also known to be the wizard behind the keyboard and a helpful set of hands whenever needed.

We appreciate everything he’s done during his Ducal reign and look forward to celebrating his step down on Nov. 8!✨

“What does wearing the Duke title mean to you?
-Wearing the Duke title means being able to represent and give back to a community that has given me so much. It’s more than a title or a sash. It’s about showing up, supporting others, and hopefully leaving the organization a little better than I found it.

What is something you’ve learned through your time in the organization?
-I’ve learned that you don’t need to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact. Sometimes leadership is simply showing up, helping where you can, and making sure the people around you feel supported.

What is one message you want to leave with the people who support you?
-Whether you come to an event, donate, volunteer, tip a performer, or simply encourage us from the sidelines, you are part of what makes this community possible.”

“-What does wearing ICP title mean to you?
Honestly, it felt good at first and it meant work and responsibility, but once I started living the experience, it felt beautiful and unique; now I can say that holding this title means a great deal. It involves pride, adventure, responsibility, and a lot of hard work, but all in the most positive sense.

-What is something you've learned through your time in the organization?
I’ve been learning since day One! The most important thing for me is that we can get together as a community and bring joy and happiness to everyone, not just to our community.

-What is one message you want to leave with the people who support you?
Omg, that I didn't expect so much love and support; it’s beautiful to feel that people are backing you in all your crazy ideas. Thank you all for everything you’ve done for me, for your respect and advices. This isn't over! There’s more to come—just wait and see. But none of this would be possible if it wasn't for the Haus of Curia, Adrian, Riley, Tori, Kathy, Penny and Wes! I owe them so much! Without you guys, Akasha wouldn't be the person she is today! From the bottom of my heart... Thank you!”

-What does wearing the Empress title mean to you?
“Wearing the title of Empress means so much to me. Firstly, being the first ever transmasc Empress of All AK is such an honor. Secondly, I’m able to really be able to help the other titleholders to do the best they can for themselves AND their desires to help with the community as well.”

-What is something you've learned through your time in the organization?
“Through the last four(ish) years, i’ve learned who my true friends are, that chosen family can get you through some of the toughest times, and home isn’t always a PLACE.”

-What is something you hope to learn during your reign?
“Self-forgiveness and the ability to control my 2am ADHD messages to those closest to me.”

-What is one message you want to leave with the people who support you?
“That I appreciate them more than they know, that I hope I can live up to their expectations of me, and I don’t disappoint them.”

Hey Folx!

We can all tell the temperatures are dropping and the weather is continuing to change, which means the unfortunate four letter S word thing is quickly approaching!

The Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association (Four A's) is looking for donations of cold weather items! As you start switching your closest from your cutesy summer wear to your heavier and cozier items, it’s the perfect time to look through those items and donate any that may not fit or are not being used!

Have items to donate but not a way to drop off?

Hey folks!
The weather is getting colder, so we are asking for any donations of warm clothes you might have so we can make sure that everyone who comes through our doors will be safe when they leave. Please come by Monday to Friday, 9-5 with any winter gear you can spare!
