Meet our next guest speaker!

Clint White is the active president of the Rotary Club of Lake Atitlán in the Western Highlands of rural Guatemala. Originally from San Diego, he retired from a 25-year career in advertising and marketing and moved in summer 2023 to work alongside the Indigenous Kaqchikel people.

Clint will share the work Rotarians from around the world are doing to serve the people he has the privilege to call his neighbors. Right now, the club’s 15 bilingual members are working on 10 global grants around Lake Atitlán, along with several District Grant projects and 2 club-to-club grants. This is Service Above Self in action. 💙

🌮 Bonus: A homemade Mexican food lunch is on the menu, you won’t want to miss this!

This, Nicole Grimes, librarian and Heritage Services Director at the Anaheim Public Library joined us to share an event in Anaheim. She has a passion for Native Americans since her History studies.

On Saturday, November 14 at Oak Canyon Nature Center from 10 AM to 3 PM, Anaheim Public Library will be hosting the free Native Arts and Acorn Festival. Originally two separate festivals, they have been joined into one single event.

This is the fourth year for this family friendly cultural celebration of the Tongva/Gabrielinos featuring Native foods, live performances, free books, and a vibrant showcase of Native Art. Celebrate Native American heritage while
learning about traditional practices and enjoying a day of culture, education, and acorn-inspired festivities.

BBQ, arts vendors will be prolific in the wilds of Oak Canyon Nature Center! Register today at Anaheim.net/play. Donations are wanted to cover the costs of teen book donations and arts and craft supplies to the attendees from lesser
circumstances.
