Put on a happy face! Bye Bye Birdie is flying into Phantom Projects Theatre Group at La Habra Depot June 5–21.

One of Broadway's most beloved musical comedies, 'Bye Bye Birdie' captures the excitement, chaos, and hilarity that unfold when teen rock-and-roll sensation Conrad Birdie is drafted into the Army. Before he leaves, a nationally televised farewell kiss sends the small town of Sweet Apple, Ohio into a frenzy of swooning teenagers, frazzled parents, and nonstop comic mishaps.

Packed with unforgettable songs like 'Put On a Happy Face', 'Kids', 'Honestly Sincere', and 'A Lot of Livin' to Do', this Tony Award-winning classic continues to delight audiences with its infectious energy, colorful characters, and timeless humor.

More than just a nostalgic trip back to the early days of rock-and-roll, 'Bye Bye Birdie' explores celebrity culture, fandom, family expectations, and finding your own path—topics that feel just as relevant today as they did when the show first premiered.

🎭 Opening This Weekend at Ophelia's Jump Productions!

Get ready for laughter, heart, and a story about finding yourself in the most unexpected places. 'The Legend of Georgia McBride' opens June 5 and runs through June 28 at Ophelia's Jump Productions.

Matthew López's acclaimed comedy follows Casey, a struggling Elvis impersonator whose dreams of stardom are colliding with the realities of adulthood, marriage, and impending fatherhood. When his act is replaced by a drag show, Casey finds himself on an unexpected journey that challenges his assumptions about identity, family, and what it truly means to belong.

While drag performance provides the colorful backdrop, The Legend of Georgia McBride is ultimately a story about relationships, self-discovery, and embracing change. Filled with outrageous comedy and genuine emotional depth, it's no surprise the play was a favorite among audiences during Ophelia's Jump's season selection process.

Founder Beatrice Casagran describes the show as one with "a lot of pathos and heart"—a perfect blend of big laughs and meaningful storytelling.
