GRAPHIC but educational.
This is a plea for help for Cotton 🩵
Peep his air biscuits despite what he’s going through.
This is our second case with identical findings. What looks to be a neuter site infection developing a week to a week and a half after neuter. Some GI signs present and eventually what looks to be an abscess forming near the sc***um but mostly on the lower abdomen area.
If you know how neuter operations work, you know they are not very invasive. Neuter site infections are not commonly seen as much as spay site infections.
Most of our FIP cases are caught after spay/neuter because the anesthesia/stress progresses the disease that was already developing.
We luckily caught this quickly. But our first case similar to this months ago was misdiagnosed and resulted in our previous rescued kitten passing 🕊️
With Cotton we were suspicious early on and luckily our vet helped us catch it quickly .pet.center
Not only are we now treating for FIP but his abscess ruptured and he’s been through surgery to repair it. We’ve been closed for the beginning of summer and will likely continue to be due to financials and lack of fosters. Please consider making a tax deductible donation so that Cotton is not the last FIP kitten we help this summer. We currently have 2 other kiddos on treatment as well.
