Knotts’ Annual Volunteer Bonding ! 🎢
As we near the end of our second AFAE year, of course that means trauma bonding at Knotts where we all collectively experience dry lips, dehydration, wibbly wobbly legs, and Angelo eating seaweed 🤗
We did manage to get fearful leader onto GhostRider this year though !!!!

Lunar New Year Celebration🧧 | 2.28.26
DIM SUM-body say party ?? Sharing memories from our first annual LNY celebration complete with games and fun including chinese calligraphy, red envelope fortune hunt, lantern making, etc! We also had a traditional feast prepared by our lovely parents and a student music performance of China’s famous “Gong Xi Gong Xi” song led by Marc, AFAE’s music club lead 🎉. We are so fortunate to have such amazing kids, parents, and volunteers here at AFAE — wishing you all a prosperous and lucky year ahead 🥡🥢🥮 :))

Science Club 💖 | 2.14.26
L is for the way you look at me 🎶 and O is for the only one I see 🎶 V is very very happy children at AFAE ! Our students loved these Valentine’s Day themed science experiments from Valentines Rain Clouds and Love Potion Sensory Bottles to Sweet Heart Oobleck 💘. Can’t wait to see what our mini scientists create next time - stayed tuned for more explosive events 🥼

Sports Club 🍂 | 1.31.26
Live, Laugh, Touch Grass 😝 ! Our AFAE members had a great time hiking a small trail, observing with their 5 senses different types of plants, bodies of water, etc. Pizza and snacks were then served to refuel as our kids got back on their feet to play a game of duck duck goose and enjoy the play structure :)

Cooking Club 🍣 | 1.10.26
“RICE”and Shine — to another yummy recipe our kids tried. Volunteers assisted our students in making some delicious california rolls, spam musubi, and inari !! Tummies were full and parents were thoroughly impressed with how nice they turned out! Thank you to Sophia, Claire, Marc, and Matthew for manning the different sushi stations and to our volunteers for yet another fulfilling, happy session with our AFAE kids :)

Cooking Club 🍝 | 12.13.25
Mamma Mia! AFAE was filled with the aromatic smell of our students’ delicious pasta. From having to knead the dough, cut it into their desired shapes, and cook it with tomato sauce—to writing in their cookbooks and making hot chocolate, our kids were a busy group of chefs! Thank you to Vivian and John for doing an AMAZING job at the stations and to our volunteers for assisting our kids in the making of such a wonderful product 🤩

Sports Club 🏸 | 11.22.25
Our students had so much fun at our first outdoor event of this AFAE year, with many smiles and much laughter to share 😌. With activities such as a bouncy house, badminton, soccer, the playground, and brain games—there was something for everyone to enjoy!! Thank you to our parents for providing the yummy food and our volunteers for ensuring the kids had a great time 🥰
