Name: Catherine Acosta

Favorite archive you’ve visited: Tiffany & Co. and Patagonia

Favorite thing about being an archivist: What I love most about being an archivist is uncovering and sharing the stories that often get overlooked or forgotten. There’s something powerful about giving voice to what’s been hidden.

When not archiving, I love cooking, practicing yoga, and occasionally drawing or practicing hand embroidery. I’m always curious—whether I’m learning a new language or collecting objects like ‘30s dinnerware, antique postcards, or Indigenous jewelry. I’m drawn to the stories things carry.

Meet the Archivist!

Name: Eric Chin

Company: NBCUniversal

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Favorite archive you’ve visited: As somewhat of a “sneakerhead,” getting to visit the Department of Nike Archives (DNA) was such a treat. Love how integrated and influential the team is there setting up rig rooms to inspire designers to create new shoe releases that make me poor.

Favorite thing about being an archivist: Simply knowing that your work matters. At NBCUniversal, we oversee collections that are significant in popular culture and tied to many shared experiences within society. It’s quite a humbling responsibility knowing the decisions we make have impact and last lifetimes.

When not archiving, I like to channel my inner Ted Lasso and coach my daughter’s soccer team. Cooking is my creative outlet and I think I’m pretty good at it. Losing money at the racetrack is fun occasionally too. Try to be the best dad to 3 kids and a new puppy.

We have a survey out to try to help us make our BAS Colloquium, Mixer, and guided tours for SAA even better next year. Link is in our stories and available until 10/24.

There have been a few calls for program proposals rolling out lately on BAS Connect. has a deadline tomorrow, so get those in while you can!

And we have a great upcoming Knowledge Share on Nov. 7th with you won’t want to miss.

Lots to look forward to and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Meet the Archivist!

Name: Ashley Durig

Company: The Kroger Co.

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Favorite archive you’ve visited: P&G and The Cincinnati Reds (which are less than a mile down the road) and Nationwide in Columbus! Recently, I visited the Kentucky Derby Museum and met Jessica at a local library for a talk on her latest book about the museum. Being new, I am still exploring and looking forward to seeing many more.

Favorite thing about being an archivist: Every day is different- new questions, new adventures, new side quests and opportunities to find stories to tell. I love building displays connecting our associates to the past and present day events. I led a team of Kroger associates to build our first ever museum and am now building out the archives.

When not archiving, I like to cook, bake and eat good food. I love to visit the fantastic museums and zoo here in Cincinnati, too!
