On our second full day, we began the Twenty Lakes Basin loop, which was approx 6 miles - with lots of lakes :) The Scouts got to fish at many of them, and the crown jewel was definitely Shamrock Lake, where most of us took a swim.

We began our backpacking trip from Saddlebag Lake, which sits just outside the eastern entrance to Yosemite on the Tioga Pass. We made camp above Greenstone Lake. Our intrepid fishermen came back with some impressive trout, which they cooked over a jetboil for their dinner. The next day, we climbed to Conness Lakes, where everyone got to explore the area. GORGEOUS views back down the valley!

Last weekend, we drove up the 395 for our annual Eastern Sierras backpacking trip. We stopped at Alabama Hills to visit Mobius Arch, had a fantastic lunch at Mahogany Smoked Meats in Bishop - then explored the beaver ponds at Lundy Lake. Finally settled in at our campsite to acclimate to the altitude.
