NAWIC Orange County Chapter #91 NAWIC Orange County's purpose is to strengthen and amplify the success of women in construction. state. NAWIC Core Values: Believe. Persevere. Dare.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. NAWIC has a diverse membership and more than 150 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. Since 1996, NAWIC has seen its Core Purpose grow worldwide and has International Affiliation Agreements with the Canadian Association of Women in Construction, NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, NAWIC-United Kingdom and South African Women in Construction. In NAWIC’s 58 years of service to its membership, the Association has advanced the causes of all women in construction, from tradeswomen to business owners. NAWIC Core Purpose: To enhance the success of women in the construction industry. NAWIC Pledge: As a material for the construction of our building, I pledge the agility of my hands, the ability of my mind, and the integrity of my heart

We love seeing one of our NAWIC Orange County women recognized for the work she continues to do both within our industry and throughout our community.

Congratulations, Liv! So well deserved. 👏

🎤 Your voice is part of your professional presence. So let’s strengthen it.

Join NAWIC Orange County on October 6 for Public Speaking & Professional Presence: Construction Edition, hosted by the Western Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association.

Using a Toastmasters style framework, we’ll work through practical ways to strengthen presentations, communicate with more confidence, recognize what already works for us, and identify where we want to improve.

Whether you are speaking in a meeting, presenting to leadership, addressing a project team, or simply learning to take up a little more space in the room, these are skills that matter at every stage of a construction career.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.

Twenty five years later, we honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless people whose courage and service carried communities through an unimaginable day.

We also remember the unity that followed and the responsibility we share to continue building stronger communities with compassion, service, and respect.

We will never forget.

Last week, NAWIC Orange County traded hard hats for harbor views as we gathered for our 2026 to 2027 Board Installation & Celebration. ⚓️

The evening gave us a chance to recognize the women who helped steer our chapter through the past year and welcome the leaders taking the wheel for the year ahead.

A special thank you to Lisa Thibodeaux, MBA, MA Ed, CIT, CDT, our outgoing President, and the entire 2025 to 2026 Board of Directors for the time, leadership, and commitment they gave to NAWIC Orange County. Every new board inherits a course shaped by the women who served before them, and we are grateful for everything this board contributed.

We are excited to welcome Bailee Bearden as President and Corrie Chan as Vice President, alongside our newly installed 2026 to 2027 Board of Directors. We look forward to seeing the ideas, leadership, and direction this crew brings to the chapter.

We were also so glad to have NAWIC sisters from other chapters aboard to celebrate with us. Those connections beyond Orange County are one of the things that make NAWIC such a special community.

And now for the companies that helped us get this celebration off the dock. A huge thank you to our sponsors: Swinerton Builders, BBG Construction Law, ROCKWOOL North America, Healthcare Design & Construction, LLC, M3 Mechanical, ehs International, Inc., Bravo Roofing, Inc., Casco Contractors, Bogart Construction, Inc., Premier Pacific Properties, BWH Hotels, J&S Construction Clean Up, Inc., and C&H Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning.

We also want to thank Adrian Ong for capturing the evening through his lens and giving us plenty of memories to share long after we returned to shore. 📸

The course for 2026 to 2027 is set. We are ready to see where this year takes NAWIC Orange County. ⚓️🌊
