Women in Animation Bay Area Chapter

WIA Bay Area Chapter is an organization consisting of students’ and professionals from all different aspects of animation.

Our goal is to provide a community focused on learning, networking, and mentoring for those involved or interested in animation.

Thanks so much for coming out today! It was amazing to meet so many other members!! So many of you are working on such interesting projects across so many different areas of animations. The industry might be crazy but its so lovely to meet with others from new grads to professionals who are sticking it out!

Come chat with .kyra about her role as a Senior Matte Painter in the animation industry! This Thursday 5/28 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Art Hangout voice channel of the WIA Global Disrcord. She'll be going over her paintimg process, how she got into her role, and advice for other matte painters. Hope to see you all there!

They will be showcases 9 shorts from Cartoon Salloon including the recent award winning Eiru. In addition director Giovanna Ferarri will be joining remotely for a Q&A about her impact full and beautiful short film. Come celebrate Irish culture and beautiful Indie animation with SFFILM and SFMOMA this weekend!

Join us on the WIA Bay Area Discord voice channel this Thursday 1/22 at 6:30-7:30pm to hear all about what it is like being a colorist in animation from Jade Tan. Jade is currently a colorist for Lucasfilm and has previously experience at Tonko House on Oni and other commercial work.
