We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for opening their doors so we could host Lucha to the Polls. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who came to the event and helped build community.
As we continue this work, we remember that the right to vote was not simply given; it was fought for by our ancestors, elders, and communities who believed in a more just future. Voting is one way we honor that legacy. It is an act of love for our families, our neighbors, and the communities we call home.
Queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a la Iglesia Católica St. Mary’s por abrirnos sus puertas y permitirnos organizar el evento Lucha to the Polls. Asimismo, estamos profundamente agradecidos con todas las personas que asistieron al evento y contribuyeron a fortalecer nuestra comunidad.
Al continuar con esta labor, recordamos que el derecho al voto no nos fue simplemente otorgado; fue conquistado mediante la lucha de nuestros antepasados, nuestros mayores y nuestras comunidades, quienes creyeron en un futuro más justo. Votar es una de las formas en que honramos ese legado. Es un acto de amor hacia nuestras familias, nuestros vecinos y las comunidades que consideramos nuestro hogar.
