Wichita 988 Tribal Response We have a drop-in center located at 301 W Broadway Street in Anadarko, OK. We have staff on-call 24/7.

Formerly known as the Raising Interest in Suicide Education (RISE) program, the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes 988 Tribal Response program strives to increase access to mental health services for Native Americans through the 988 Mental Health Lifeline. Wichita and Affiliated Tribes 988 Tribal Response Program (Former names: Tribal Youth Surveillance Prevention program and later rebranded as the RISE program)

The 988 Tribal Response (988TR) program is a federally-funded grant administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The purpose of our program is to provide resources to improve response to 988 contacts (including calls, chats, and texts) from tribal communities and/or American Indian/Alaska Native callers. Our program can help coordinate/facilitate a variety of mental health and suicide prevention/intervention trainings, educate community members, mental health professionals, and first responders on what the 988 process looks like, and provide case management, professional therapy, and peer recovery support services for 988 callers. Native licensed professional counselors are on-site and specialize in both youth and adult therapeutic services.. We encourage tribal members looking for resources/support services to call/text 988 and ask for the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes 988 Tribal Response Program.

We would like to give a big thank you to Official - Riverside Indian School for allowing us to bring awareness to your students with another successful event.

On September 23rd the 988 Tribal Response Program partnered with Tribal Youth Connections and other Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Behavioral Health Programs, to celebrate Su***de Awareness Month at Riverside Indian School. The students heard from Mental Health Subject Matter Expert Cortney Yarholar on the importance of Mental Health. They also enjoyed insight & performances by Supaman along with music by emcee one. Thank you guys for your ongoing support for the students and our programs. We would also like to thank Dakota Wahkinney for his amazing photos and video recap of the event that you can see here.

TODAY is 988 Day. 988 Day is a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and emphasizing the importance of mental health and su***de prevention. The theme for 988 Day 2026 is 988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough. This theme reminds us that you don’t have to be in crisis to reach out to 988. Whatever you’re facing, big or small, your reason for seeking support is reason enough.
