🎉 TODAY is the day for our 1st through 5th graders! Reminder that kids shouldn’t be on campus solo until 9 a.m. and if you’re driving the loop to drop off, please pull ALL the way forward in the unloading/loading zone and kids being dropped off this way should be able to unbuckle and get out without help to keep our line moving. Welcome back to school, Mustangs and families!

Did you know? 🍎

All Mt. Erie students receive free breakfast and lunch thanks to House Bill 1238 (HB 1238)!

This law requires schools where 30% or more of students qualify for free or reduced-price meals to offer meals at no cost to all students — and that’s possible because you complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit Application each year.

This year, the application is part of the annual information update in Skyward, so thank you for completing that paperwork.

🐴 We want to introduce you (or reintroduce you) to Martha and Martin!

These two Mustangs help bring Mustang Pride and Energy to our school each week! Classes have the opportunity every Friday during the school year to win Martha (K, 1st, 2nd) or Martin (3rd, 4th, 5th) by having the highest percentage of participation in Spirit Day!

Students and teachers participate by wearing Mustangs gear, blue, white or sports-team apparel (think Seahawks Blue Friday, Anacortes Parks and Recreation team shirts, etc.).

If you’d like to stock up on your Mustangs gear for your student for these Spirit Days (or yourself too), our store is open through Sept. 12. Thanks to local businesses T-Shirts by Design, a portion of your purchase comes back to the PTA to help support student, teacher and student enrichment.

Good reminders to us all to be alert in school zones and slow down for all the kids in our community!

School Starts in ONE Week!

Anacortes, help us keep our students safe as they head back to school!

- Slow down in school zones and watch for flashing lights.
- Stop for school buses when red lights are flashing and the stop sign is out; it’s the law!
- Watch for students walking and biking near crosswalks, bus stops, and neighborhoods.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help protect our students!

A lifelong Washington resident, Dr. Everett has dedicated more than three decades to serving students and families, most recently as superintendent of the Meridian School District.

It’s that bittersweet time of year where many of us are trying to stretch the final days of summer but also looking forward to all that comes with a new school year!
