Thanksgiving from Anaconda Firefighters Local 100!
We’re grateful for this community and the support you show us all year long. As you gather with family and friends today, please take a moment to keep safety in mind.

Remember to stay close to the kitchen while cooking, keep kids and pets away from hot stoves, deep-fry turkeys outdoors, and take it easy on the winter roads. A few simple steps can help keep your holiday safe and stress-free.

From our firehouse family to yours, we hope you enjoy good food, good company, and a great Thanksgiving.

Stay safe, Anaconda!

🚒 Another Successful Fire Prevention Day at Lincoln Elementary! 🔥

The Anaconda Fire Department Local 100 had another incredible day teaching the next generation about fire safety during our visit to Lincoln Elementary School. Our crew spent the morning with students talking about what to do in case of a fire — including learning the difference between good fire and bad fire, knowing when to Stop, Drop, and Roll, and how to stay low and crawl under smoke to get out safely.

The kids were full of energy and had some great questions! They also got the chance to meet real firefighters, see our gear up close, and learn that firefighters are helpers — people they can always go to in an emergency. Seeing their excitement and curiosity reminds us exactly why Fire Prevention Week is so important.

We’d like to thank the teachers and staff at Lincoln Elementary for having us again and for helping make fire safety such a fun learning experience. A big thank-you as well to our firefighters who take the time to share these important lessons with our community’s youth — you’re helping build a safer future for everyone in Anaconda.

🔥 Remember: Fire safety starts at home — talk with your kids, make a family escape plan, and always practice what you learn!

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

September 11th, 2001 is a day etched into the hearts of every firefighter, first responder, and American. Twenty-four years ago, our nation watched in horror as the unthinkable unfolded. In the midst of that tragedy, 343 firefighters, along with law enforcement officers, paramedics, and countless others, made the ultimate sacrifice. Many gave everything trying to bring others to safety, and some fire companies were lost entirely.

For the fire service, 9/11 is more than a date in history — it is a reminder of the true meaning of courage, duty, and sacrifice. Our fallen brothers and sisters walked into danger with no hesitation, knowing the risks, because that is what it means to wear this badge and this uniform. They embodied the highest calling of our profession: to serve and protect others, no matter the cost.

As members of Anaconda Fire Department Local 100, we pause today to honor their memory. We fly our flag high from our ladder truck not just as a symbol of mourning, but of pride — pride in those who served with such bravery, pride in the brotherhood and sisterhood of the fire service, and pride in carrying forward the legacy they left behind.

We also remember the families, friends, and communities who lost so much that day. The pain and loss they endured remind us that service comes with sacrifice, and that freedom, unity, and resilience are values we must never take for granted.

Today, and every day, we commit to never forgetting their names, their courage, and their sacrifice. May their memory continue to guide us, strengthen us, and inspire us to serve with the same selflessness and honor.

Never Forget. Forever Honor.

🚒🔥 Training Day 🔥🚒

Today our firefighters trained on roof ventilation techniques using a specialized roof ventilation prop. This hands-on training allows crews to practice critical skills in a safe, controlled environment, ensuring they’re ready when seconds matter on the fireground.

Ventilation is an essential firefighting tactic that helps remove heat, smoke, and toxic gases from a structure, improving visibility and survivability for both firefighters and potential victims.

Over the next two weeks, you may see our crews out practicing these techniques. These repetitions help build muscle memory so that when seconds matter, we’ll always be ready.

This training also plays a big role in helping many of our members obtain their Firefighter I certifications—a nationally recognized standard that ensures firefighters are equipped with the foundational skills to safely and effectively perform on the fireground. By building toward this certification, our team is not only preparing for the challenges of today but also investing in a stronger, safer future for our department and our community.

Proud of our team for always working hard to sharpen their skills and serve our community! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒💪

🎉 Happy 60th Birthday, Head Start! 🎉

A huge thank you to Head Start for inviting our firefighters to be part of your special celebration! 🥳 We had an amazing time connecting with the children and celebrating six decades of dedication to early childhood education.

Opportunities like this remind us how important community engagement is—especially with our youngest citizens. Spending time with these bright, curious kids helps build trust, spark inspiration, and maybe even plant the seed for future first responders! 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

We’re honored to be a part of your milestone, and we look forward to many more years of working together to keep our community strong and connected!
