The Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation (BSCF) has announced that it has opened its Fall 2025 grant round for organizations who provide services in Bowman & Slope Counties. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization, a government agency, or have a fiscal sponsor with one of those designations.
Grid United, an independent transmission company and significant donor in the region, has gifted money to be granted through their Community Investment Program (CIP) in 2023, 2024, and 2025 to Slope County alongside the foundation’s yearly endowment earnings which serve both counties. Organizations may apply in both Spring and Fall. Grant dollars from Grid United and the Endowment will be divided up into two grant rounds as follows:
• SPRING Round: $36,800 granted to organizations who serve Slope County
• FALL Round: $47,854 available for organizations who serve Bowman and/or Slope County
• FALL Special Single Capital Project Grant: $150,000 for organizations who serves Slope County
APPLY TODAY, ONLINE at www.NDCF.net/BowmanSlope (“Apply for Grant” tab then “Apply Here” button). Fall applications are due by September 15, 2025. The Foundation advisory committee will discuss the applications and determine grant awards shortly after the deadline.
The BSCF is a permanent endowment from which the local advisory committee take applications, reviews, and grants out annual earnings and additional funds (like Grid United’s large donation) based on the most pressing needs of the community, helping improve the quality of life in the Bowman & Slope counties. Spring Round 2025 were awarded to the following organizations:
• New England Rural Fire Protection: $15,000 for Personal Protection Gear
• Bowman Fire Department: $15,000 for Turnout Gear
• Marmarth Ambulance Service: $6800 for AEDs for Rural Readiness

The Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation is a component fund of the North Dakota Community Foundation (NDCF). Established in 1976, NDCF provides all forms of charitable services for the community such as committee training, marketing, endowment management, gift planning, annual audit, gift and grant processing; so that committees can focus on building the fund, making it a significant resource for the community.
