The Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation Advisory Committee awarded 5 grants this fall totaling $191,250. Endowment Funds in the amount of $13,050 were distributed in addition to a large donation from Grid United. Projects receiving Grid United funding must have a broad impact on the quality of life for a significant number of people in Slope County. (Grid United’s gift is to be granted immediately and will not have any impact on the Foundation’s endowment fund.
Recipients for Fall 2025 Grants Awards:
- Slope County Farmer’s Fair Association: $150,000 for Capital Improvements (livestock barn and outdoor seating area)
- Rhame Fire Department: $28,200 for SCBA Gear Replacement
- Bowman Regional Public Library: $2,300 for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
- Bowman County Fair Association: Four Season’s Floor Repair Project
- Women Empowering Women: $750 to Purchase LifeVac Devices for Local Daycares
The Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation Endowment was established in 2014 and has a market value of over $430,000. Jeanine Clendenen, Committee Chair stated, “The Grid United donation, now it’s third year, has been an incredible gift to Slope County residents and our communities. These funds have and will continue to bring a better quality of life through improvement projects and lifesaving equipment purchases. We are excited to announce that there will again be two grant rounds in 2026 with additional funds from Grid United’s North Plains Connection project, as well as, earnings from our endowment fund.”
After eleven years, Ila Kelner, Carla Teska and Jeanine Clendenen will be ending their years of service to the Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation Advisory Committee. New members will be elected in the Spring of 2026.
