The Amherst Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee is happy to update the community on its recent grant submission to The NH Recreational Trails Program. Our 48 page proposal was delivered Friday and we should hear back by the fall. Our initiative is to fund a bridge linking almost 2 miles of beautiful trails that must cross over Beaver Brook to be accessible. If successful, the project will be entirely funded outside the Town of Amherst's budget, through both this grant and the very generous donations of our neighbors to the matching funds portion required under the terms of the grant. The proposal will be available on the committee's pages on the town's website for those who are interested. Wish us luck.
