I firmly believe that politicians often make promises they think will garner votes, regardless of their sincerity. Both Republican and Democratic candidates and elected officials have been known to prioritize their own political agendas over the interests of working men and women. Those who make promises they do not intend to keep will ultimately be held accountable by voters. The Lorain County AFL-CIO Federation of Labor witnessed firsthand the outcome of the Lorain City Council vote regarding the Lorain City Port Authority appointment. We are taking note of which officials have supported our interests and which have betrayed our trust. This vote will have implications for future endorsements and support for candidates and elected officials.
