Despite great achievements in oral health of populations globally, problems still remain in many communities all over the world - particularly among under-privileged groups in developed and developing countries. VAW – Dental Outreach provides volunteers with the opportunity to shadow dental professionals and assist them in procedures such as extractions, cleanings, fillings, radiography, and seala

nts. Volunteers will fund raise for the supplies and materials used for the procedures prior to the trip abroad. In the clinics, volunteers will perform basic triage, assist the dentists, and manage the pharmacy, as well as teach oral hygiene classes in elementary schools. All volunteer work is under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist. All housing, food, staff, translators, and in country transportation is included. Interns pay for their plane tickets, spending money, and fun travel.

Are you looking for a way to get clinical experience? Join us for the Summer of 2018!

Volunteers Around the World (VAW) allows you to travel to areas like the Dominican Republic, Peru, or Guatemala! You get the opportunity to:

- Shadow and assisting dentists
- Experience clinical days
- Conduct a dental education day to locals and children
- Measure vitals

All while traveling to another country!

We are having our first info session on October 3rd in Machmer West 25 at 6 PM. Feel free to bring your friends!

LOOKING FOR WAYS TO GET SOME SHADOWING OR CLINICAL EXPERIENCE NEXT SUMMER? JOIN US!

You'll get the chance to observe and assist licensed dentists in dental procedures such as cleanings, sealants, extractions, fillings and even radiography! In addition to shadow experience, you'll also learn how to take vitals, manage a sanitation station for the dental instruments, and prep dental trays for different procedures. Looking for shadowing or clinical research opportunities abroad?
