Every year, BCAS ends our season by awarding the Michael A. Fabiniak Service Award. This award is given to those who have demonstrated above-and-beyond dedication to BCAS in their volunteerism. This year’s recipients are Ali Searer and Dan Berger: two long-time members who are always working behind the scenes to ensure our choir runs smoothly. Congratulations to both Dan and Ali on an award well-earned!

In just one week, experience an evening of inspiring music in one of WNY's most breathtaking sacred spaces.

On Friday, June 12, the Buffalo Choral Arts Society brings its 60th Anniversary Season to the Basilica. Surrounded by the Shrine's magnificent architecture & soaring dome, guests will enjoy a special program featuring Ola Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass & the world premiere of "Songs for the People" by composer Glenn McClure.

Whether you're a lover of choral music, architecture, or the beauty of the Basilica itself, this promises to be a memorable evening!

If you’re a longtime follower, you know that our 60th anniversary concert wouldn’t be a celebration of BCAS without also celebrating Marcia Giambrone. Marcia, our former music director of 36 years, will be returning to the podium to conduct Daniel Gawthrop’s “Sing A Mighty Song.” We will also be announcing the winner of the first-annual Marcia A. Giambrone Scholarship for Vocal Education. We are so honored to have her step out of retirement to celebrate this milestone anniversary. Join us on June 12th at Our Lady of Victory Basilica.

What a rehearsal! Last night, we sang in our concert space, added our instrumentalists, and added the visualizations for SUNRISE MASS; it’s truly all coming together. Join Buffalo Choral Arts Society for the culmination of our 60th anniversary season! This concert features works by Gawthrop, Hagenberg, Stroope, and Ola Gjielo's SUNRISE MASS in its entirety, with multimedia visualizations accompanying each piece. We will be joined by a chamber orchestra, as well as Marcia Giambrone, our conductor of 36 years. Come celebrate 60 years of bringing music to our community, from our community. Thank you to everyone who came out on Tuesday evening for “Music and Memory” — a talk with the composer of our commissioned work, Glenn McClure. Attendees got a preview of the piece woven into Glenn’s presentation on the historical context behind the poem “Songs for the People” by Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, which serves as the text of the piece.
