The Tiger's Den Food Pantry needs your help. If you need help, the pantry is here to help.

We are continuing to see record numbers of families each month, including new families and emergency shoppers. We served 75 families in September - 35 of whom came yesterday when we were open - quite a clean out of our shelves!

Can you add a few extra items to your shopping list this week and help us out?
- Broth, canned soups (other than chicken noodle), ramen
- Spaghettios, canned ravioli, canned chili
- Tomato products: paste, plain sauce, spaghetti sauce, diced
- Canned beans (garbanzo, refried, great northern)
- Canned peas, beets, potatoes
- Juice and juice boxes
- Raisins and canned fruits
- Ketchup, mayo, BBQ sauce, jelly
- Sugar
- Oil
- Coffee and tea
- Crackers, cookies, chips, pretzels
- Pancake mix, syrup
- Paper towels and tissues
- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash
- Hand soap, laundry detergent, dish soap
- Toothpaste

You can drop off your donation at the pantry anytime using our donation box, or stop by when we are open!

The Tiger’s Den Food Pantry operates out of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 4007 Main Street (near Eggert Rd) and serves families in the 14226 area.

From Kiersten Roetzer, ACHS Music Teacher and Director of the ACHS Wind Ensemble. 🐯

Please join us for a very special joint concert at Amherst Central High School! The ACHS Wind Ensemble will be performing with the Erie County Wind Ensemble on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 7:30 PM in the ACHS Auditorium.

This concert is especially meaningful because several ACHS alumni are members of the Erie County Wind Ensemble. It will be a wonderful opportunity to bring together current ACHS musicians and alumni who continue to share their love of music and performing.

The concert is free and will feature a performance by the ACHS Wind Ensemble, followed by a performance by the ECWE. The evening will culminate in a special side-by-side performance featuring musicians from both ensembles.

If you’re an ACHS alum, we would especially love to have you join us! I know the students would be excited to see familiar faces from the ACHS music community in the audience.

We hope to see you there!

Help Support Amherst Chorale to get to Carnegie Hall. The ACHS Concert Chorale will be appearing at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, April 18, 2027, 1:00 pm under the direction of Justin Pomietlarz, ACHS Director of Choral Activities. Mr. Pomietlarz was invited to appear as guest conductor by Mid America Productions https://www.midamerica-music.com/ as part of their 43rd Concert Season. At this performance, the Amherst Chorale and other area ensembles will give the Carnegie Hall premiere of celebrated Buffalo-based composer Roland E. Peter Hunt '71 and Mary Jo Hunt will be inducted into the Western New York Business Hall of Fame in 2026. The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Congratulations!

Peter and Mary Jo Hunt have helped grow the fourth-generation Hunt Real Estate into a $100-plus million company. He's now executive chairman, and she led leadership development efforts for many years. Mary Jo is also the executive director of the Cummings Foundation.
