Last Sunday, April 26, members of the Amherst DPW Association volunteered their time to help with the annual Rubbish Roundup. Members worked alongside volunteers from the community cleaning up various trails and public areas.

Thanks to everyone who organized this great event and especially to the residents who gave up a portion of their weekend to help out! Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Amherst DPW Association rally last Thursday. We could not do this without the support from our community, and your support has helped bring us closer to a fair contract with the town!

A great letter to the editor in the Amherst Bulletin from local resident David Sloviter, thank you David for the support!

The council always seems to find time to try to affect U.S. foreign policy or make a statement about the wrongful acts of the national governmen...

Flora Biro over at Amherst College’s newspaper, The Amherst Student, wrote an article about our rally the other day, including an interview with our union president.

Members of the Amherst Department of Public Works started negotiations to change their contract in 2024. According to President of the ADPW Association Andrew Brace, Town Manager Paul Bockelman must approve the contract and has been absent from nearly every meeting.

The Amherst Department of Public Works Association would like to thank all the members of the community who showed up on the evening of March 2, 2026 to support our efforts for a fair contract.

Despite the cold weather, you came out in force and showed you care about the men and women who work daily to hold this town together. Your actions truly helped to elevate the effectiveness of the rally and made our voices even louder.

Honorable mention goes to the dozens upon dozens who honked their horns while driving by. We heard you. It is our sincerest hope that the town administration heard all of us.

Also a special thanks to Art Keene at the Amherst Indy and Scott Merzbach at the Hampshire Gazette for covering and reporting on the rally to help spread the word.

Scott Merzbach also wrote a good article on our negotiation struggles that was published in the Hampshire Gazette today. It’s front page in the physical paper today as well!

Working without a contract since July 1, and in the midst of ongoin...

Art Keene at the Amherst Indy wrote a great in-depth article on our rally last night and what happened once our union went inside Town Hall. For those of you who may not have been able to get inside, I highly recommend checking out the article!

The air was brisk but the spirit was heated as about 150 people gathered on the North Common across from Town Hall on Monday evening, March 2, to support the Amherst DPW (Department of Public Works) Association’s call for a fair contract. The union has been working without a contract for seven mon...
