Iowans for Adoption

Iowans for Adoption www.iowansforadoption.org We promote adoption as a preventative measure for improving children’s and families’ overall well- being.

A nonpartisan, group; we promote adoption as a positive parenting to ensure that all children have a permanent, safe, loving, nurturing and stable home that contributes to their positive health and well-being. Our main goal is to ensure that all children have a permanent, safe, loving, nurturing and stable home that contributes to their positive health and well-being.We serve as a networking and a

dvocacy forum for those who value and support adoption and to support all members of the adoption triad. We provide free materials to educate others about the option of adoption, increase the positive portrayal of adoption via public service announcements, speaking engagements, and free networking support groups for birth and adoptive family members.

The bond that can develop between adoptive families and birth parents is truly special. Adoptive parents are deeply grateful for the opportunity to provide a loving future for a child, and they dedicate their lives to helping that child thrive.

If you're asking yourself, "Should I place my baby for adoption?" know that you are not alone. Many expectant parents have faced the same difficult questions and emotions. We can connect you with caring professionals who can provide guidance, support, and information as you explore your options and make the decision that feels right for you and your baby. 💜

Every birth mom’s reason for choosing adoption is different because every situation is different. Whatever your reason, you are making a selfless decision.

Every day, thousands of kids in foster care wonder one thing:

“Will anyone ever choose me?”

💔 Over 390,000 children are in foster care in the U.S.
💔 More than 100,000 are waiting to be adopted
💔 Many will wait YEARS for a permanent family
💔 Some age out of the system completely alone

And here’s the part people don’t talk about enough:

A child who ages out of foster care faces much higher risks of homelessness, trafficking, incarceration, and unemployment.

These aren’t “someone else’s kids.”
They are OUR kids.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month.
So instead of scrolling past… learn, share, foster, mentor, support, advocate, or adopt.

One safe adult can change a child’s entire future. 💜

During National Foster Care Awareness Month, we also want to raise awareness about Iowa’s Safe Haven Law, a law designed to protect infants and provide families in crisis with a safe, legal option.

Every child deserves safety, care, and the opportunity for a brighter future. Through foster care, adoption, and community support, we can help ensure children are surrounded by hope, stability, and love.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, learning about resources like the Safe Haven Law can save lives and create new beginnings. 💛

See our website for information on Iowa's Safe Haven Law or send us a DM if you'd like a digital copy of our brochure! https://www.iowansforadoption.org/process-for-birth-parents

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime friend, Bill Pearce.

Bill was, in every sense of the word, a faithful servant. He dedicated his entire career to serving youth and helping build loving families through adoption. Through his work completing home studies, he helped provide forever families for hundreds of children. He also generously shared his knowledge, guidance, and support with our organization, Iowans for Adoption.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Karen, their children, and all who loved him during this difficult time.

On behalf of Iowans for Adoption, thank you, Bill, for your unwavering passion for adoption and your lifelong commitment to helping children find the love and stability of a forever family. Your compassion, dedication, and servant’s heart will continue to impact generations to come.

This May, during Foster Care Awareness Month, we recognize the strength and resilience of children and youth in foster care, along with the families, volunteers, advocates and professionals who support them every step of the way.

Our IFA Board Member, Ruth Eley, is a beautiful example of how love can change lives. 💜 She has 4 birth children, has adopted 18 children and has fostered more than 90 children over the past 33 years. Her dedication is a reminder that love truly has no limits.

Foster care changes lives, and there is always a need for volunteers, foster parents and advocates willing to support children and youth in need. Visit our website to learn how you can get involved and make a difference. Together, we can help create brighter futures filled with safety, stability and hope.🫶
