The Ames Public Library is again offering a free lunch to kids on weekdays this summer from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. starting on June 8, in the Library's Auditorium. Lunch is free to all youth 18 years and younger; meals for adults accompanying youth are $5.15

Last month, our friends at Fareway Stores enlisted support from their generous shoppers and raised over $12,500 at their round-up at the register event to support ChildServe’s mission! ❤

These funds will help support ChildServe’s Autism Program, directly impacting kids like Lola, who recently graduated from our Autism Day Program in Iowa City. Her incredible progress is just one example of what’s possible when families have access to the right support.

Our Autism Program meets families where they are and grows with them as their needs evolve. The program offers more than 16 integrated services to support individuals who display characteristics of autism spectrum disorder. Thank you to Fareway shoppers across Iowa for rounding up! We're happy to partner with United Way of Story County as one of the drop-off locations for their annual food drive! Donations from the drive support local children and families across Story County. 🫶

ChildServe team members helped collect and organize donations at each of our welcome centers. This year, we helped collect 347 pounds of high-need items for the community! Thank you to United Way for being a great partner of ChildServe and for providing essential resources to families in our community.

Registration for Nurse Camp is live! https://bit.ly/NurseCamp2026 🩺

On Friday, August 7, ChildServe will again host Nurse Camp for incoming 6th – 8th graders at our Johnston location.

Nurse Camp is hosted by ChildServe nurses, who are excited to provide a fun-filled day, sharing their love for nursing with the next generation. Children will gain hands-on experience through fun-filled activity stations to learn nursing skills and techniques, gain career-focused knowledge and improve critical thinking skills.
