🛍️ We're in Need of Grocery Bags! 🛍️

Our supply of shopping bags is running low! If you have extra plastic or paper grocery bags sitting around at home, we'd be so grateful if you could donate them to Affordables.

Every bag helps us package purchases for our wonderful customers while giving those bags a second life. 🌎♻️

You can drop them off anytime during our regular business hours. Thank you for helping us serve our community—we truly appreciate your support! 💙

To participate, please bring an item to be repaired. This workshop is hands on and you will work directly with a teacher to learn basic diagnostics and repair. Come ready to get involved!

Mid‑year is the perfect moment to reconnect with purpose — and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing at the River Valley Veterans Network gathering on July 15th, hosted and sponsored by the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center in Ames from 6–8 p.m.

This month’s event is all about Veterans supporting Veterans, strengthened by the engagement of Central Iowa companies and community leaders who want to understand the Veteran community, share the needs within their teams, and build meaningful connections that move people and organizations forward.

The Gateway is generously providing food and a welcoming environment, giving us the space to talk openly, share resources, and build relationships that matter.

Whether you’re a Veteran, an employer, a community partner, or someone who believes in the power of service‑driven leadership, you’re invited to join us, connect, and be part of the momentum.

Looking forward to seeing you on July 15th.
