Hello Everyone,
http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Residents.aspx
I'm sending this web page as an example of how painful and lengthy the grief can be due to the loss of a companion animal. I'm doing this in hopes that you will take a few minutes of your time to visit several of the thousands of residence of rainbows bridge to see and learn that grief due fo the loss of a companion animal is as serious and last just as long as any other loss. Many people stile believe that this loss is trivial compared to the loss of a human family member, a job, a relationship, or any other loss that we face in a life time and the suffering only goes on for just a very short times, Though it might not be a popular thing to teach or support the only way to change this way of thinking is to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. It can be difficult for some to take criticism for this belief, even though they know it's the truth. The leaders we look to like clergy, doctors, city leaders etc have the responsibility to change things and attitudes but it's up to us as pet loss victims to convince them to at least take some real time to investigate and research this in a fair way. Please remember that the people that share their grief and companion animal stories are paying 25 dollars a year to maintain these residencies and you will notice most of them continue to post on these residencies pages years after the loss. It is time for us to start helping people learn this and accept this simple fact. I'm not trying to, in anyway, passing judgment on anyone. We only react to things how we are taught too. But if we want people to really accept and be tolerant to our pain, it's up to us to bring about this change by communicating this to the society we live in. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my plea for your help. Please have a blessed Christmas and a new year filled with healing and renewed joy. Doug
