The Ames Branch of the NAACP is bringing the community together for a powerful evening of dialogue around the future of education in Ames.

🗓 Thursday, May 28, 2026
🕕 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Ames Public Library – Danfoss Room
Superintendent Scott Grimes will be sharing his vision for Pre-K and Beyond — a district-wide commitment to nurturing the whole child from their earliest years in preschool through graduation and beyond.

Scott Grimes is the 29th Superintendent of Ames Community School District, a district with over 150 years of history. He previously served 12 years as Superintendent at Dallas Center-Grimes, where he led a 5–12 Vision connecting schools with local businesses and expanding student opportunities. Before that, he played a key role at Perry Community School District, helping the school community rebuild and heal following a traumatic school shooting. He holds an Ed.S. in Superintendent Administration from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Iowa State University. His PK & Beyond vision reflects a belief that every student, from their very first day of preschool through high school graduation, deserves a strong, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

This is your opportunity to hear directly from district leadership and ask the questions that matter most for your children and community. Come ready to listen, engage, and be heard.
