Listen to our very own Lauren Van Hauen share her journey to the National FFA Convention and Expo! She competes in two days! We are so very proud of her!

What does it take to become the best FFA Creed speaker in Iowa, and earn a shot at the national title?

In the newest episode of the Amazing Education Podcast, Ames High sophomore Lauren Van Hauen takes us behind the scenes of an accomplishment that started with five paragraphs, a lot of practice, and a willingness to step onto the stage.

Lauren shares what FFA Creed Speaking actually involves, how competitors are judged, and why delivering the Creed is about much more than memorizing words. She also talks about the preparation and even choreography behind her state-winning performance, the moment she realized she'd won as a freshman, and her favorite line about the “joys and discomforts of agricultural life.”

Now, Lauren is preparing to represent Iowa at the National FFA Convention—but she's already thinking about what comes next, from showing pigs to pursuing leadership opportunities in FFA.

Congratulations to Ada Nelson on earning her American FFA Degree!

The American FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization, recognizing outstanding dedication, leadership, community service, and achievement. Only about 1% of FFA members earn this prestigious honor! Ada will be presented this honor at the National FFA Convention later this month!
