aret Winchell, Mabele Titel, Minnie Nacy. Throughout the years, the AuxIliary has worked with the Post on many community projects, and charity fund drives. In 1951 the Post purchased its present building from Sam Dosch. The building was a country Schoolhouse, that had been moved to town. Two adjoining lots, were purchased from Kenneth Route in 1958. A mortgage burning party, was held in June 1956, at North Park.
1964 was a year of much progress. The post was able to obtain city sewer and water services, thus enabling it to install indoor restroom facilities. In 1972, and addition was constructed for a new kitchen and dining hall and restrooms, (currently the kitchen and restrooms are located in the basement). since 1986 an addition with enclosed ramp has been added to the facility, including an upstairs bathroom. Meetings are held every second Monday of the month, at the Post. Currently the Post, with AuxIliary assistance, has BINGO every Thursday evening, the Canteen opens 4:00pm--??? with Bingo starting at 6:30pm. the Canteen is open Friday evenings 4:00--???

On August 11th, 1946, the VFW Post 7929 Amery WI was Nationally Chartered. That's right, for 80 years, we have been serving and assisting veterans in need, and family members of veterans. Our organization provides a neutral environment for veterans to gather to be amongst their brothers and sisters who have served in a combat zone. Our mission also includes having a community outreach through programs like Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy for the Middle and High School students. We promote patriotism by providing Color Guard details for many parades and provide Military Honors for veterans that have passed away. We also have community events like our Memorial Day parade and program, and our annual Flag Retirement Program. As a non-profit 501c (19), which is a classification for Nationally Chartered Veterans Organizations, we can continue to exist through our growing membership and the wonderful support from our community, which include our Thursday Night Bingo, our Karaoke Night every other Saturday, Raffles, and special fundraising events. Due to the excessive heat and humidity and a heat index warning of 100+ degrees. We will be canceling our Flag Retirement Ceremony this afternoon for safety reasons. We will probably wait until Fall to reschedule when it's cooler.
