The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy has put out a call to action to reach out to our members of congress in response to the Department of Education’s decision to declassify MFTs as professionals for student loan lending. Our members are phenomenal at reaching out to our state legislators. Now let’s show our federal representatives how engaged our MFTs are!

Members of Congress need to hear from you about the importance of restoring the professional status of the MFT degree. AAMFT drafted a prewritten message for you to send to your legislators to the link below. Please contact your legislators as soon as possible!

UAMFT was honored to present Representative Steve Eliason with the Mental Health Advocate of the Year Award at our spring conference last week. We appreciate his collaboration, the consistent discourse, and, most importantly, his willingness to hear from those of us in the field. Representative Eliason is committed to Utahns’ mental health and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts.
