Join us today at 6PM on the ISU Quad for our regular weekly meeting and our Monthly Shire Business Meeting! Everyone is invited! Afterwards for rapier fighter practice we will have a Rice Cake Challenge. A rice cake is taped to you and your opponent, and the only way to win is by removing or destroying each others rice cake. It is a great challenge to hone your calibration and endurance. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone who aided and participated in Arts and Sciences with Spring Emergence. An extra special shoutout to my teachers: Yrsa Snaebjornsdottir, Kang Xiao Zi, Margerie de Kaer yn Arvon, Julianna, and Li Cheng; Because of them we were able to host ten classes throughout the event.

In addition we hosted the Emergence Arts and Sciences display. There were 8 participants that had wonderful work to share with us. I lucked out and had the Kingdom Arts and Sciences champion available as a guest judge to help choose our four champions: For “New and Emerging Work” - Rafton Barlowe, for “Spring Relevance” - Kang Xiao Zi, for “Populace Choice” - Alyanna de la Vega, and for “Best in Show” - Li Cheng. Good work champions!

Finally, wind blown and ragged we were in desperate need of a bardic particularly the Calling in the Summer bardic! It was a delight to see flowers flying at the end of each performance in spite of the wind. Thanks to our populace our bards were able to shine with a bouquet each. Of ~10 participants we had 3 champions: Populace choice and Champion of Winter - Sven Brazhnikov, Champion of Summer - Isabel of Cote du Ciel, and Champion of Summer - Ellen.

I’ll be up to bat to coordinate A&S opportunities at Uprising, so keep an ear to the ground, time is coming fast!

We are pleased to announce that many from the Shire were acknowledged within the Kingdom of Artemisia- Official for their deeds at Spring Emergence! Yrsa was entered into the Order of the Golden Maple Leaf for demonstrating consistent excellence in the arts and sciences. Johannes was entered into the Order of the Gryphon and Pheon for excellence in the skills and teachings of archery. Rafton (not pictured) was entered into the Order of the Golden Pillar of Artemisia for consistent service to the kingdom. Li Cheng, Kang Xiao Zi, and Elizabeth were all awarded their Award of Arms! We are so proud of all of your accomplishments!

The Shire of Stonegate, in collaboration with the Shire of Silver Keep, invites our extended family to the Crossroads of Artemisia for a day of fighting!

Join us Saturday 30th at Alameda Park in Pocatello!

The summer fighting season is almost here, so it is time for warm-ups, drills, learning, and good clean fights!
If we have enough attendance, we can also practice our skills in melees. We plan to have Cut and Thrust available as long as we have a C&T Marshal.
Everyone is invited! We will have a covered pavilion in the park, with refreshments to share. We welcome any drinks or snacks that anyone would like to bring.
It is a dry site. Dogs are allowed on leash if they are picked up after. We will have a punch test if anyone wants to have their fighting gear tested before the summer season starts.
