Understandably, everyone wants to know whether or not the law is still in effect right now, or whether the injunction from the trial court goes back into effect immediately so they can buy ammo now. We are working to try and get a definitive answer to that, but it appears that the law will remain in effect until the case gets back to the trial court, or we get a ruling form the court of appeals that the stay of the trial court's injunction is lifted. It is almost certain that the state will ask the Ninth Circuit to keep the stay on Judge Benitez' injunction in place so the law stays in place while they ask for en banc review from the Ninth Circuit. Please stand by while we try to nail this down. We are working hard to try and get the law knocked out immediately.

California gun owners just secured a huge win! The Ninth Circuit upheld our challenge in Rhode v. Bonta to the state’s unconstitutional restrictions on ammunition purchases—a case CRPA has been fighting since 2017.

Today's ruling is what plaintiffs CRPA, Able's Ammo, AMDEB Holdings, Ammunition Depot, R&S Fi****ms, Sam's Shooters Emporium, Olympian Kim Rhode, and many in the 2A community, like the National Rifle Association, who supported the many appeals in this case, have been waiting almost a decade to receive. But the fight isn't over. California won’t back down, and neither can we.

Now is the time to stand up and fight back. Help CRPA keep this win alive and protect your right to purchase ammunition for self-defense, hunting, and sport.

Make no mistake: the state will try to reinstate the ammo ban. We don't yet know what their next move will be, but we do know their commitment to gun control policies. We need your help to stop them.
