"What are you?"
We are Grace and Mercy Outreach, Thrift Store and Help Center, serving those in need with the love of Christ. We have been located here serving the community in Amelia, Ohio for 17 years and counting. We have just recently opened a second Grace and Mercy Outreach in Wi******er, Kentucky and we hope to open more locations across the U.S. "What do you do?"
We believe God has called
us to be messengers of His Grace and Mercy to the whole person. Thus, with His openhearted delight we pursue a twofold ministry. First, we seek to share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ with all who come to us, thereby allowing God to fulfill their spiritual needs. Second, with what God provides us, we seek to help meet the poor and underprivileged people’s physical needs for food, clothing and other necessities. "How do you help those in need?"
We have a soup kitchen which is ran daily where we serve the homeless a hot free meal, along with anybody else who would like to sit down and enjoy a meal. We are a thrift store where everything we have is donated by the community. We sell clothes and accessories for men, women, children, and babies. We also sell items from appliances, knickknacks, small furniture, house supplies, electronics, books and many more. Everything we sell goes towards keeping the storehouse open. As for those who are in need of clothing or household items and cannot afford them, we give out the clothing and household items for free (by appointment only). We have a food bank where the food is donated by the community as well as your local restaurants such as Chick fil A, Bob Evans, and many more. This food goes towards serving the people in the soup kitchen as well as providing families with food who cannot afford it. Each year we run a “Back to School” program to help provide children with school supplies for the ongoing year for families who cannot afford school supplies. We also have Thanksgiving and Christmas programs for families who cannot afford it so families can have a Thanksgiving and so children can have presents to open on Christmas. Donations for supplies, food for Thanksgiving dinner, and toys for Christmas are needed for when we run those programs. We cannot help with funds or housing, but we can help with what we have in the store (If you do need help with funds or housing, we can provide you information of organizations that can help you with that). However if you are in need of food, clothes, or household items (due to fire or damage), we give out these things for free *by appointment only, so please call a day ahead. Soup Kitchen - Daily at Noon
*Free Clothing - Monday and Wednesday from 1 pm - 3 pm
*Food Pantry - Tuesday and Thursday from 1 pm - 3 pm
*Household - Friday from 1 pm - 3 pm
*by appointment only, so please call a day ahead. Thrift Store - Monday thru Saturday 11 am - 4 pm
Also our message is to share the good news of the Salvation in Jesus Christ to all who come by us, thereby allowing God to provide for your spiritual needs. If you would like to know who Jesus is or would just like to just ask questions, we would love to help you with spiritual counseling. And if you have anything personal going on in your life that you need prayer for or would like to just discuss your situation one-on-one, then we can sit down with you and pray with you and help counsel you in your situation. You can help out in so many ways! If you are passionate for helping people and love to give with a cheerful heart, then we would love you to come volunteer with us. You can help out from sorting through donations to serving people in the soup kitchen. We are also always looking for leaders to come help with keeping the store running with order and efficiency (please come talk to Rick McCarty or Cassidy Latoof if you are interested in being a missions leader). We are always in need of food donations. We are always in need of canned goods, pop tops, side items, and breakfast items. Things that are non-perishable that we can put together to give to families so they can have breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. We will take fresh produce and catered food as well; those items will be used in our soup kitchen. We also do accept diapers and dog/cat food for those who have newborn babies and animals. We are always in need of donations for the store. If you have nice and gently used clothing, household items, small furniture, toys, books, electronics, outdoor items, etc., then we will utilize your donations by selling them to the public to keep the storehouse open. When you donate, please make sure it has all of the pieces and it is functional. Your donations can be written off on your taxes as well. Get involved! If you are attending school, church, youth groups, sports teams, boy/girl scouts, National Honors Society, dance teams, community service, or any kind of organization, then reach out to your organization and come partner with us! We would love to work together with you to help promote our cause and to help promote your organization! As a community, the best way we can achieve our dreams and to fulfill God’s purpose is to stand up and take action. With faith the size of a mustard seed, we can. If you would love to have more information about our organization, please message us via Facebook Messenger, phone, email, or just stop in and talk with us! We are in the process of changing directors and getting our word out to the community so any kind of support is appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and support. God bless.
