-Bring pets indoors during freezing temperatures

-Provide proper, insulated shelter if pets must be outside

-Limit time outdoors and watch for signs of cold stress

-Wipe paws after walks to remove ice, snow, and salt

-Use pet-safe ice melt and clean up antifreeze spills immediately

-Tap the hood or honk before starting your vehicle—animals may seek warmth underneath
