Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, sisters, daughters, and caregivers across our Metal Trades family.

Today, we honor the women who keep our families strong, our communities grounded, and our movement moving forward. Whether on the jobsite, in the shipyard, at home, or standing shoulder to shoulder in support of working families, union mothers help build the foundation of this country every single day.

The labor movement has always been powered by sacrifice, resilience, and love for family, and mothers embody those values in every way.

From all of us at the Metal Trades Department, AFL-CIO, thank you for everything you do. We wish you a safe, joyful, and well-deserved Mother’s Day.

Solidarity always.

National Apprenticeship Week is here, and it’s a reminder of what actually builds a strong workforce in this country.

Union apprenticeship programs aren’t just part of the system. They are the system. They train the skilled trades workforce that keeps our industries running and our communities strong.

See the link in the comments below to read how the Metal Trades Department is recognizing the role apprenticeship plays in building the next generation of union workers.
