🌲🏕️ GAFPA FAMILY CAMP 2026! 🏕️🌲

We had an absolute blast this weekend at Greater Amarillo Foster Parent Association Family Camp! ❤️

Our GAFPA families came together for an unforgettable weekend surrounded by nature and making memories at beautiful Ceta Canyon. From hiking and fishing to archery, water slides, swimming in the pool, spotting wildlife, and enjoying ALL the yummy food, there was something for everyone! 🏹🎣🥾🦌💦

And of course, no campout is complete without ice cream sundaes! 🍦🍨

But the very best part? Watching our foster, adoptive, and kinship families laugh, connect, relax, and enjoy time together. These moments of community and belonging are exactly what GAFPA is all about. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make Family Camp so special—from our amazing volunteers and organizers to every family who joined us. We are already looking forward to the next adventure! 🥰

🎉 WE ARE FULL! 🎉

Wow! We have officially filled all 45 indoor craft and vendor booths for the 2nd Annual Greater Amarillo Foster Parent Association Craft & Vendor Show! Thank you for the incredible response and support! ❤️

If you're still interested in an indoor craft or vendor booth, we'd love to add you to our waitlist. Indoor booth spaces are 10' x 10' for $40. You are welcome to register for the waitlist, but no payment will be accepted until a space becomes available and you have been notified. 6-foot tables are available to rent for $10 each, and setup and takedown are included with your booth reservation.

🌮 We ARE still looking for FOOD & BEVERAGE TRUCKS! 🍔🥤

With 45 vendors and a great turnout expected, we're anticipating a large crowd—which means lots of hungry shoppers! If you own a food or beverage truck, we'd love to have you join us!

Be My Neighbor Day is a fun and free community event inspired by “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” on PBS KIDS! Bring the whole family for a day of crafts and activities sure to make you feel GRR-IFIC! This event will celebrate the importance of being a caring neighbor and we cannot wait to see you there!

Moms, I just want to take a moment to say thank you. To every mom who has fostered or adopted a child—you are doing holy, hard, and beautiful work.

There are days when you may wonder if what you’re doing is making a difference. Days when the exhaustion feels heavy, when the progress feels slow, or when the love you pour out doesn’t seem to come back right away. But please hear this: your love matters more than you know.

Every bedtime story, every doctor’s appointment, every prayer whispered over a hurting child, every moment of patience when it would be easier to give up—it matters. You are giving children something they may have never truly had before: safety, stability, and unconditional love.

You are not just raising children. You are helping heal hearts. You are showing kids that they are wanted, valued, and worthy of love. That kind of impact lasts a lifetime.

And even when the journey is messy or painful, do not grow weary in doing good. Keep fighting the good fight. Keep showing up. Keep loving fiercely. The seeds you are planting today may take years to fully bloom, but they are growing.

So to every mom in this stage: we here at GAFPA see you, we appreciate you, and think you are doing a good job. The work you do is changing lives, one child at a time.
