Amarillo Education Foundation

Amarillo Education Foundation "To contribute to an environment of success for all AISD students." GOALS

FACILITATE STUDENT ACADEMIC SKILL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.

The school foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt entity that has become a proven method of attracting funds for public education. It helps meet current and future needs, attracts significant dollars from the private sector and promotes positive community relations. The Amarillo Education Foundation has been created to support the educational program of the Amarillo Independent School District wit

h the missions of “GRADUATING EVERY STUDENT PREPARED FOR SUCCESS BEYOND HIGHSCHOOL.” The Foundation will provide funds beyond the district’s normal operating budget for educational programs and activities for students and staff, for emergency fund needs of students and special projects/programs in support of AISD student success. These funds are not available through tax revenues; therefore, the Foundation funds will be used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, recognize and encourage staff excellence and expand community involvement of individuals, businesses and civic/community-based entities. Continually build partnerships and awareness of the needs, challenges, and ingenuity of the Amarillo Independent School District. Provide resources for educational activities for students, including out of school experiences. Assist in providing recognition for deserving AISD students. Model activities adaptable to all students, which serve to promote academic success, personal well-being and respect for others, and success after high school. SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE AN EXEMPLARY EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM WITHIN ALL DIVISIONS OF THE AMARILLO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT. Recognize excellence in the areas of teaching, administrative, student and classified employee achievement. Provide venture capital for innovative programs and activities as well as those needs beyond the budgeted items. Fund professional development and leadership programs when appropriate. Unconditionally strive to increase support from individuals, business and civic organizations. Create greater community awareness of future directions in public education – specifically in the Amarillo Independent School District. Be continually aware of the changing needs of the Amarillo Independent School District. Promote and encourage greater school/community understanding and mutual support through advocacy of the AISD students and education in general.
