Sister-Bear Foundation is proud to be a city partner and a part of the City of Amarillo Accessibility Task Force! One of our main projects is growing the enforcement force for Accessible Parking Enforcement. Several of our Sister-Bear staff, board members, and volunteers are parking enforcement officers and we are proud to serve our city and ensure that everyone has access to the parking spots they need.
We’re looking for volunteers to help keep accessible parking spaces available for those who truly need them.
The Accessible Parking Enforcement Volunteer Program gives Amarillo residents a meaningful way to serve the community by supporting disability access. Volunteers are trained to observe and report violations. They are equipped with the tools and support needed to do the job safely.
Training, identification, and equipment are all provided by the City Marshal’s Office, and safety is always the top priority.
If you’re interested, complete the Volunteer Sign-up Form and a representative will follow up with next steps.
Volunteer requirements:
-Must be at least 21 years old
-Able to pass a background check
-Available for scheduled Municipal Court hearings
-Able to communicate professionally with the public
-Complete application, agreement, and orientation
Help protect access for those who rely on it.
