Amarillo Area Foundation

Amarillo Area Foundation Improving quality of life for Texas Panhandle residents. 26 counties. One mission.

The Amarillo Area Foundation was established in 1957 by a group of visionary leaders. It is the only community foundation serving the northernmost 26 counties of Texas. The Foundation provides grants and services to strengthen nonprofit organizations and the services they deliver to Panhandle communities. An overarching goal is to find new and better ways to link the generosity of Panhandle philan

thropists to the most effective charitable nonprofit organizations. The Foundation is a publicly supported philanthropic institution that is governed by a board of private citizens.

To our Amarillo family, our hearts have been heavy watching what our neighbors have gone through with the recent fires. Itโ€™s been incredibly hard to see, but if thereโ€™s one thing we know about the Panhandle, itโ€™s that we donโ€™t let each other go through tough times alone.

We really want to use the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank to do our part and help people rebuild. From now until ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜, we are donating ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฌ% ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€ directly to the ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ณ ๐—™๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ.

By coming out to the tournament, youโ€™re doing so much more than just buying a ticket. You are extending a direct helping hand to local families who need it most right now. Letโ€™s come together, support one another, and show the true strength of our community.

Community isnโ€™t just where we live, itโ€™s how we show up for each other ๐Ÿ’›

If you're planning to join us, please consider grabbing your tickets before ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜ so we can send as much support their way as possible โžก https://tinyurl.com/2bk2k4dx

Due to the impact of the recent wildfires across the Panhandle, we are launching our 2026 Change for the Better campaign to support families and organizations affected by these devastating events.

Beginning Friday, May 22 through June 5, customers can round up their purchases at participating locations, with all proceeds benefiting the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund.

Participating stores include all Amarillo, Canyon, Plainview, and North locations.

Together, we can make a difference for our neighbors and help keep the Panhandle Strong. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ฅ TEXAS PANHANDLE FIRE RECOVERY RESOURCES ๐Ÿ”ฅ

If you were affected by the recent fires โ€” EVEN IF YOU DID NOT LOSE YOUR HOME โ€” you may still qualify for disaster recovery assistance and support services.

Preliminary reports indicate more than 50 homes have been lost, with many additional families impacted by smoke damage, displacement, utility loss, property damage, and other hardships.

๐Ÿšจ FIRST STEP FOR ALL SURVIVORS:
Complete the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) iSTAT Damage Survey AND request VOAD assistance.

The iSTAT survey helps emergency officials document damages and can help communities qualify for additional disaster recovery resources.

Through VOAD assistance requests, survivors may be connected to:
โœ” Clothing
โœ” Hygiene products
โœ” Baby items
โœ” Towels & blankets
โœ” Temporary food boxes
โœ” Clean-up crews
โœ” Help replacing important documents
โœ” Insurance navigation assistance
โœ” Temporary housing resources
โœ” Other unmet disaster-related needs

โค๏ธ AMERICAN RED CROSS ASSISTANCE
If you have not already been contacted by the American Red Cross, call: ๐Ÿ“ž 1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767)

Eligible households may qualify for financial assistance for immediate needs such as clothing, hygiene items, food, towels, paper goods, medications, and other essentials.

โš ๏ธ IMPORTANT: Opening a case with the Red Cross does NOT replace completing the TDEM iSTAT survey.

๐Ÿ  TEMPORARY HOUSING AVAILABLE
Texas Panhandle VOAD has partnered with Airbnb.org to potentially provide at least 28 days of temporary housing for eligible survivors. Additional assistance may also be available based on need.

๐Ÿ“ MULTI-AGENCY RESOURCE CENTER (M.A.R.C.)
๐Ÿ“… Saturday, May 23, 2026
๐Ÿ“ Location to be announced

The M.A.R.C. will serve as a one-stop resource center with multiple organizations and recovery services available under one roof.

Please continue sharing this information so all impacted residents know help is available. โค๏ธ
