The night before you leave Ukraine, you don’t sleep. Your brain and your soul and your heart are living somewhere in a space shuttle. You feel flat… one dimensional because everything, literally everything is squeezed out of you. You can’t breathe or think or… anything.
You understand fully that you are leaving… the most valuable, precious, crazy incredible innocent people…
You have been changed. AGAIN. You want to shout at the human race and spit out fire and ash and cry and scream and move mountains so that everyone wakes from a slumber and begins to understand the gravity of continuous alarms 🚨 sounding for days, weeks, years. For every person who has died because of pure evil. Call a spade a spade. Because Russia made the decision, all other crazy nonsense aside, to kill and annihilate Ukrainians. You hear crazy propaganda schemes that try and divert the attention away from the bully who is killing innocent people day by day, hour by hour but the truth is unchanged.
You talked to every Ukrainian you knew and they said repeatedly to stop saying they are brave, resilient, strong but instead come to terms with the FACTS that Ukrainians have NO CHOICE but to try and survive each and every moment of every day.
Ask a Ukrainian how they are… “I’m still free and alive”…
Ukrainians love deeply, defend the ones they love with fierce passion, make zero apologies for this and fight like hell for life.
Today I sat and listened and watched people come and go down the streets of Lviv. A cat in a nearby window joined me in this. An average cat on an average day in an average life living the best possible way it can possibly live.
Every Ukrainian has the right to live. Period. To live. The pursuit of LIFE.
May this one sleepless night find you and prick your heart and mind into a million pieces so that you will be so inflamed that you must do something, anything to save humanity, to help others, to move mountains, to get beyond the limits and help Ukrainians LIVE.
There is a thread that holds us between life and death. Our bodies are soft and temporary. But we are humans who have the power to create change and to motivate others to create change too.
I invite you, personally, make waves, create tsunamis that can and must help save us all.
