The Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund supports disaster response and recovery across the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle by partnering with nonprofits, churches, and long-term recovery groups to meet community needs after disasters. While we do not provide direct assistance to individuals, we work closely with local officials and trusted partners to address unmet needs through financial support.

The Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund is currently active for 2026 in response to area wildfires, as wildfire conditions persist. We continue to coordinate with local leaders and assess response and recovery needs.

πŸ”₯ TEXAS PANHANDLE FIRE RECOVERY RESOURCES πŸ”₯

If you were affected by the recent fires β€” EVEN IF YOU DID NOT LOSE YOUR HOME β€” you may still qualify for disaster recovery assistance and support services.

Preliminary reports indicate more than 50 homes have been lost, with many additional families impacted by smoke damage, displacement, utility loss, property damage, and other hardships.

🚨 FIRST STEP FOR ALL SURVIVORS:
Complete the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) iSTAT Damage Survey AND request VOAD assistance.

The iSTAT survey helps emergency officials document damages and can help communities qualify for additional disaster recovery resources.

Through VOAD assistance requests, survivors may be connected to:
βœ” Clothing
βœ” Hygiene products
βœ” Baby items
βœ” Towels & blankets
βœ” Temporary food boxes
βœ” Clean-up crews
βœ” Help replacing important documents
βœ” Insurance navigation assistance
βœ” Temporary housing resources
βœ” Other unmet disaster-related needs

❀️ AMERICAN RED CROSS ASSISTANCE
If you have not already been contacted by the American Red Cross, call: πŸ“ž 1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767)

Eligible households may qualify for financial assistance for immediate needs such as clothing, hygiene items, food, towels, paper goods, medications, and other essentials.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Opening a case with the Red Cross does NOT replace completing the TDEM iSTAT survey.

🏠 TEMPORARY HOUSING AVAILABLE
Texas Panhandle VOAD has partnered with Airbnb.org to potentially provide at least 28 days of temporary housing for eligible survivors. Additional assistance may also be available based on need.
